This is Dr. Jaerock Lee, Senior Pastor of Manmin Joong-ang Church in Seoul, Korea. I wish for your life to be filled with God’s love and blessing. I want to share God’s grace with you through this message titled “Power of Love.”
There is a legend about Niagara Falls. Long ago a tribe that lived around there offered pretty beautiful maidens to the god of the falls every year. They chose a pretty young woman and put her in a canoe then set the boat adrift down along the falls.
One year the only daughter of the chief of the tribe was chosen. He looked strict and majestic, but his heart was burning with indescribable pains. At last the day of offerings came and she was put in the canoe decorated with flowers. She was overwhelmed with terror and burst into tears. Very strangely the chief was not seen anywhere.
When her boat sailed towards the falls, a man was discovered paddling a canoe towards her. The person was none other than her father, the chief. He paddled next to the boat of his daughter and caught her hand, the two of them fell into the fierce falls.
In the same way, many parents love their children and do not spare any kind of sacrifice for them. How much more great is the love God has given us?
God sent His only begotten Son, spotless and blameless, to save all men who were doomed to eternal death because of their sins. In addition, Jesus took the sufferings of crucifixion and opened the way of salvation. God has given those who accept Jesus Christ the gift of the Holy Spirit and He has led them to complete salvation.
What shall we do in detail to realize God’s love from within the heart and appreciate Him and repay His grace? Just as said in 1 John 4:11, “Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another,” we have to love one another.
Love does not seek one’s own benefits but sacrifices oneself for others. That is the spiritual and true love that never changes for ever and ever. God wants us to dwell in goodness and righteousness and to fulfill the Law with love.
‘The Law” here refers to all the words of God that we children of God have to keep. When we obey them, we can become His true children who are like Christ. Therefore, we have to love and honor the Temple of God where the Law of God is preached. We must practice the Law that is preached and then we have to spread God’s love far and wide.
We have been saved through the love of our Father God and the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ. May each of you fully realize the love of God who gave up His only begotten Son for us and guide as many people to the path to salvation as you can, in the name of our Lord I pray!
