1. Why Pray
Prayer is a conversation with Almighty God. If we look at the Lord’s Prayer that Jesus Himself taught us, it begins with praising God, confesses our obedience to God’s will (Matt. 6:9-10), asks for His permission (Mt 6:11-13), and finally prays for God. This is because children of God who have received the Holy Spirit maintain their spiritual life through prayer. If we do not pray, we cannot live according to the Word of God, we will commit sins, fall into temptation, and eventually fall into evil, so we cannot fully walk on the path of eternal life.
Therefore, the children of God must communicate with God through prayer, so they must maintain their spiritual life, feed on God’s word, and become those who do God’s will. You must become a blessed person who lives and possesses the happiness of eternal life. In order to live such a blessed life, God spoke of the importance of prayer, set an example of prayer through Jesus, and told us to pray without ceasing.
2. The Prayer God Wants
Just as our hearts change when we have the right posture for anything, in order to move the heart of Almighty God, we must first have the right posture when we pray. A proper prayer life is the source of strength to lead a successful life, and through this prayer, we can have a lasting relationship with the living God and obtain the fruits of great experiences. So how should we pray? I hope that you come to this earth as the Son of God and imitate the prayer of Jesus, who only obeyed the will of God.
First of all, it is important to follow your habit and pray. When a person follows the law and leads a regular life as a member of a large or small group, such as at home, school, or society, he becomes reconciled to everyone and thereby leads a beautiful life. Setting and keeping breakfast and dinner time at home seems like a very small and trivial matter, but if everyone in the family respects this order and keeps it well, the family will be more harmonious and happy. In the same way, if you set a prayer time to receive spiritual sufficiency in faith and pray according to your habit, God will be pleased and answer you promptly. According to the Bible, Jesus went to the Mount of Olives to pray (Luke 22:39), Jesus’ disciples Peter and John prayed at a set time (Acts 3:1), and the prophet Daniel also prayed three times a day (Dan 6). :10) It says that I prayed according to my habit.
The second is to get down on your knees and pray. It is rude to behave inconspicuously without proper posture even in front of parents or adults. Even more so, if you pray before God, the Creator, it is natural to pray with a more correct posture and kneel in prayer. In order to raise the incense of prayer acceptable to God, you must have a reverent posture. Please get down on your knees and pray if you can, unless your legs are weak and you are unable to kneel. If you obey the Word, God will strengthen the weakness of your legs.
The third is to pray according to the will of God. In the Garden of Gethsemane, Jesus prayed earnestly that his sweat would become drops of blood, and he prayed, “Not my will, but your will.” Like Jesus, when we pray according to God’s will, God accepts us happily and gives us strength through the messenger and works so that we can receive answers. Whether we eat or drink or whatever we do, we all must do it for the glory of God (10 Corinthians 31:4), so we know for sure that if we do not ask for the glory of God, we are asking with the lust, and that to ask with the lust is a mistake (James 4:2-3) First, we must seek the kingdom and righteousness of God and pray according to God’s will.
The fourth is to cry out and pray. God said, “You will call upon Me and come and pray to Me, and I will hear you; and if you seek Me with all your heart and seek Me, you will find Me” (Jeremiah 29:12-13).
