Scripture: Proverbs 22:11
“He who loves purity of heart and whose speech is gracious, the king is his friend.”
I pray that your life may be filled with God’s love and blessing. Today I want to share the grace with you through the message titled with “Holiness.”
The word “holy” applies only to the one who has no sin at all, so this word has nothing to do with human beings. It is proper for our God who is goodness itself. However, 1 Peter 1:15-16 say, “But like the Holy One who called you, be holy yourselves also in all your behavior; because it is written, ‘You shall be holy, for I am holy.'” What are we to do to accomplish holiness that Our God wants us to?
First of all, you have to become sanctified not from the outside but from within the heart. God wants you to sanctify your heart. In other words, God wants you to cut off the skin of the heart and circumcise the heart so that it can change into good and clean one without any evil at all.
People judge the other just by looking at his appearance, but God sees the heart of each one. That’s’ why if you have envy, hatred, complaints and the like in your mind, God cannot deem you godly. I don’t mean that you don’t have to care your appearances just with clean heart. If you make your heart clean, you always keep your appearances and deeds neat and tidy whether or not the others see you.
As said in Proverbs 22:11, “He who loves purity of heart And whose speech is gracious, the king is his friend,” you speak out good and beautiful words. And just as water and oil cannot be mixed, if you have made your heart clean, you live the life separated from the world.
Secondly, in order to accomplish sanctification, you should not enjoy worldly things but the godly things. You have to long for the beautiful world of spirit and to learn the word of God and to pray. And you need to long to joyfully do whatever works of God. Then, with that heart you can long for the heavenly rewards and willingly fulfill God-given duties for His kingdom.
Thirdly, in order to accomplish sanctification, you have to become humble and lower yourself. You should not lose the first heart but instead improve it. You have to be able to give God much more than ever before and even more willingly. If you exalt yourself saying, “I have risen up to this position and been favored that much,” you can never be deemed to have clean heart.
Therefore I wish for you to become humbler as much as you are favored by God. And may each of you for ever sing praises to our Father God and glorify God, and also become noble in heaven, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ I pray!
